We are excited that you are interested in learning to row on the Scioto River with the Greater Columbus Rowing Association’s Learn to Row (LTR) program. Rowing is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors. This sport also builds teamwork and is a great way to meet new people. Under the supervision of experienced coaches and coxswains, you will receive a complete introduction to the sport with focus on proper technique, boat-handling, and safety. No prior rowing experience is necessary; however, the ability to get up and down into a squatting position and fit in a narrow rowing shell is helpful. All weekday classes meet two times a week for six weeks (weekday morning and evening classes available). In LTR I, you will learn to scull (row with two oars). In LTR II you will learn to sweep (row with a single oar). You have to complete LTR I to qualify for LTR II. Weekday LTR classes: | LTR I A: Mon/Wed | 6:15pm-8:30pm | June 2-July 14 | | LTR I B: Tues/Thurs | 6:15pm-8:30pm | June 3-July 15 | | LTR I C: Mon/Wed | 6:00am-7:30am | June 2-July 14 | | LTR I D: Tues/Thurs | 6:00am-7:30pm | June 3-July 15 | | LTR II pm: Mon/Wed | 6:15pm-8:30pm | July 19-August 25 | | LTR II am: Tues/Thurs | 6:00am-7:30pm | July 20-August 26 |
LTR Fees:
| Morning LTR I | $225 | | Evening LTR I | $275 | | Morning LTR II | $175 | | Evening LTR II | $220 | | | | | | |
