    1. GCRA is going to the Michigan Club Invitational on July 20th. Registration opens on June 1st on Regatta Central: https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/index.jsp?job_id=2556

Rowers are responsible for their own registrations. For this regatta, list Laurel Odronic as Club Contact on your registration (Regatta Central will prompt you for this before you can submit your entries.)

    2. Other upcoming regattas - in the next couple days, there will be a set of "Regatta Interest Sheets" posted in the boat bay. If you are interested in participating in an upcoming regatta, put your name, email, and whether you have a lineup or are shopping for a lineup. From these interest lists, a GCRA Point of Contact for the regatta will be identified and made known. This point of contact will help coordinate trailering and other communication leading to the event.

Here is a link to a very helpful list of regattas, entries and fee analysis provided by Nicky Fried.

You can read more about most of these events on Regatta Central.

Just a reminder that LTR is now on the water and there can be a lot of traffic south of Fishinger in the evenings.  It is up to the more advanced rower to navigate safely around our LTR boats, as they don't yet have the speed or technique to do so.  It would also be beneficial to slow down when approaching these boats to give ample response time and avoid collisions (pressure pieces might be better suited in less congested areas).  LTR usually has one launch per boat, but everyone should be aware of what's going on around them.  Please review the traffic pattern on the website if you need a quick refresher.

Come out Wednesday mornings for 500m races rewarded with...you guessed it...CUPCAKES!  They will be provided by Kelly Provost, owner of The Local Bake Shop fresh each Wednesday morning.  What a better way to start your day :)  Details below:

All members are invited to a new event on Wednesday mornings:  Cupcake Races!  We will do a bunch of 500m (2 minutes) pieces between Fishinger and Hayden (and back) and the winner of each piece will get a cupcake at the boathouse from The Local Bake Shop.  No worries...we will make sure that everyone's hard work is rewarded with a cupcake.

Boats will launch promptly at 5:45 am with a warm up and then start north of Fishinger across from the Stoner dock.  Participants can row a 1x or form a bigger crew.  Races will be handicapped accordingly.

Please RSVP through the events on the website (login required) so that enough cupcakes are ordered and delivered fresh in the morning.

If you have any questions, email Helmut Berthold at hfberthold@gmail.com

Races start this Wednesday, June 19th!

donate to help with the Ohio Governor's Cup, we will have the favor
returned come October when GCRA hosts the Speakmon regatta!  Neither club
could put on these size of regattas without the reciprocal volunteers
